June 26, 2011 “Garden Party”

 Job Descriptions

Please read the following garden tour jobs closely and determine which roles you will be able to help with for our Garden Tour.  Most club members are able to do two or three tasks due to the variety of timelines. 

 

*Publicity      

Chair: Advertising  TV/news/newspapers/mailings/websites, radio  (1)

Poster  Distribution Chair:  Organize posters amongst members for display beyond local area, festivals and event locations (Daffodil Festival/Lions Breakfast)  

Poster Distributors:  Distribute posters to businesses/locations assigned by chair.  (Need 15+)

            Advertising Yard Signs Chair:  Organize and distribute date signs to members to be placed out by June1.

            Advertising Yard Signs Distributors:  Place yard signs at locations predetermined by Chair by date given.  (Need 12)

Reader Boards:  Work with local business to publicize the event on their reader boards.  (Need 1)

            Information Phone Line:  Check phone line for questions/requests every few days starting May 1. (Need 1)

 

*Tickets

Chair:  Organize, distribute and track tickets given to commercial sites and individual members.  Check back with commercial sites to refill tickets as needed.

            Tickets sales:  Each garden club member is requested to sell as many tickets as possible.  This is our ONE fundraiser of the year. 

           

*Farmer’s Market 

            Coordinator:  Coordinate all activities of the Farmer’s Market dates. (1)

            Workers:  Sell tickets, setup/takedown, provide info to attendees. Need two per 3 hour shift weekly from end of May thru tour date.  (Need 20)

Fresh flowers each week:  Bring flower display to booth at start of Farmer’s market in May.  (Need one/two for each week.)

           

           

*Gardens

Horticulture Co-Chairs:  Identify and tag unique plants in each garden.  Work with individual garden’s workers regarding plant ID prior to tour date.  (Need 2)

Garden Host:  One per 3/12 hour shift at each garden who has good plant id knowledge to answer attendees questions.  (Need 10)

            Day of Tour Co-Coordinators:  Help with organization of workers at each garden and during tour visit all gardens to ensure all is well.  Deal with tasks as needed for Tour Coordinators related to gardens. (Need 2)

Garden Workers:  Work 3 ½ hour shifts at gardens on June 26 enhancing attendees tours  (Need over 20)

Parking attendants:  Help with parking and traffic flow at gardens determined to need additional support for this.  ( # to be determined)

Signs:  Put out garden #’s and directional signs to them prior to 9:30 AM day of tour.  (Need 2)
